Description
Herdade das Fontes Bárbaras is located in Baixo Alentejo, near the villages of Entradas and Castro Verde, 35 km from the city of Beja.
The Winery and Rural Tourism are inserted in the 162 hectares of the property, where the predominant culture is the Vineyard.
It was in the 90's that the current owners introduced the vineyard culture to the farm, taking advantage of the excellence of the climatic conditions of the area, dedicating themselves to the creation of their own wines, made with the best grapes, at the Herdade's winery.
Besides the wine and tourism area, the Herdade has specialized in Wine Tourism, providing Wine Tasting, visits to the vineyards and the winery.
The Winery was enlarged and remodeled in 2019, with the creation of an inviting space to taste our wines.
The estate is located in the Castro Verde Special Protection Area (SPA), one of the most significant steppe areas in Portugal and one of the most important in Europe, being therefore also a formidable place for bird watching (birdwatching).
