ALMABIO is a recent and small agricultural cooperative from Alentejo region of small organic producers and in conversion to Demeter. We have our headquarters in the municipality of Serpa. ALMABIO objective is to promote, produce, collect, process, dispose of products resulting from organic and biodynamic farming in the region, guarantee technical support to its cooperators, as well as professional training, consultancy, training of cooperators, development of social projects for the local population and R&D projects in partnership with other public or private entities. The Herbs and Spices section is currently in operation, with an approximate area of 24 hectares of production, in which about 24 different species are produced. A promoção da agricultura biológica, agricultura biodinâmica, agricultura regenerativa ou outras similares, numa perspetiva de preservação do meio ambiente e de obtenção da melhor qualidade de produtos naturais, com potencial para proporcionar um futuro melhor e mais coerente entre os produtores.
Mission
A Cooperativa tem por missão: a promoção, produção, recolha, transformação, escoamento dos produtos resultantes da agricultura biológica e biodinâmica da região, apoio técnico, formação profissional, consultoria, formação aos cooperadores, desenvolvimento de projetos sociais junto da população local e de projetos I&D em parceria com outras entidades públicas ou privadas.
