Description
TERRIUS is established in S. Mamede Mountain in Alto Alentejo, one of the largest biodiversity reserves in the Iberian Peninsula, and its main purpose is the sustainable production, conservation and marketing of wild regional products, fruits and vegetables of excellence. It uses simple transformation processes, such as dehydration and natural preserved food, maintaining the unique characteristics of the raw materials, to bring to the world the original flavours and aromas of this land. Terrius' mission is to enhance local products, namely to recover PDO and PGI certification, based on sustained local development that promotes the preservation of the natural heritage and recognition of the region. Products: S. Mamede mushroom, acorn, Marvão chestnut, Portalegre Bravo-Esmolfe apple, Piquillo pepper, tomato, snacks, aromatic spices, other wild products, natural cosmetics.
Vision
With a clear bet on the valorization of local and Alto Alentejo products, the focus is on the development of new natural products, without dyes or preservatives and on the valorization of the Mediterranean diet. Some years ago we also bet on gastronomic tourism with picnics, cooking classes and tastings, and lately we have been betting in the area of consultancy to companies and entities in the region that want to develop new products and valorize local gastronomic resources.
Mission
TerriuS' mission is to value local products, namely based on a sustainable and socially responsible local development that promotes the preservation of the natural heritage and the recognition of the region. With a strong bet on the circular economy and valorization of the Mediterranean diet.
