Description
In an area of 16 hectares, located in Santo André, Melides in Alentejo Litoral, Precious Code produces organic green asparagus, divided by three varieties.
The Placoces variety is the predominant one that, due to its precocity and taking advantage of the edaphoclimatic characteristics, is able to reach the market first.
The other two varieties, Darzila and California 115, being somewhat later, allow the company to carry out a longer period of production and marketing.
2017 will be the first year of production, reaching in 2019 the maximum production with roughly 8 tons/ha a year, in which the installed capacity will correspond to about 120 tons.
Being this a biological exploitation, no pesticide or herbicide are used, and the production is assured by mechanical treatments and organic products.
